Hello! You've reached Alphonse Elric. I'm not able to answer at the -
Stop playing around with that stupid thing! It's time to go, Al!
Brother...

Please leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Brother...

Please leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

[ voice ; late July 7th ]
I don't know what happened to me, but - well, I kind of do, it's just never happened before and... I wanted to check on you.
[He slows down again, realizing how little he can think to say right away. It's late, he's still feeling stiff and groggy from days on days of lying still... even if Alphonse didn't know he was gone he wants him to know, just in case.]
And I need to ask what's been going on, because... it's been a while, hasn't it?
[ ᴠıᴅᴇᴏ ]
Konoe?
[Beneath it a layer of almost desperation, because he's been worried these last seven days. So worried that any day the directory listing for the ribika would up and vanish, leaving him without another loved one to rely on in this place.]
You're awake.
[Pushing up from his chair he's already turning his attention away and around his room. Konoe will no doubt hear him mumbling about where his shoes and pants went.]
[ voice → video ]
It's dark out, and the time on his device has been enough to disorient him as much as the date had. His trip home from the Meridian so far feels that much more difficult with it, walked slowly and carefully down each block he can recognize.
He hears Al's muttering just fine as he peers back to try guessing where he is - or was until now, ears folding back over apparently causing a fuss. Any argument that Alphonse should stay put dies in his throat.]
I didn't wake you, did I?
[He can't apologize for every restless night enough and he knows it, but this one....]
no subject
No. I was reading - ah -
[He's back to muttering as he bends to dig out his second shoe, which he kicked under the bed in his eagerness to dress. Even if Konoe did protest, there aren't enough words to keep him laying in bed and accepting the moment for what it is.]
Are you still by Meridian or have you made it back home?
[He just needs a basic direction to start heading towards once he's downstairs and outside. He doesn't even bother grabbing his coat, let alone buttoning the wrinkled white shirt that he hastily tugged on over his head.]
I'll be there soon as I can.
[Regardless of where it's a promise he intends to keep, because he's not comfortable with just laying around after waiting on stand by for week.]

[He can't help sounding a little doubtful, able to guess only by how far it seems he's gone, rather than reaching anyplace in particular. But he looks ahead determinedly, lifting his nose to the air.]
And it feels like the right path, I can almost smell the trees.
[When his eyes return to his screen his expression hasn't changed, a little furrow in his brow from just listening to the haste on the other line.]
But don't hurt yourself on the way, Al.

[Though words are interrupted by a bang as the door as he makes his way outside and into the streets. He hasn't worried about his physical well being since the month before, but he's been without pain and discomfort for almost the entire month. Besides, if anyone is worth the push it's Konoe, and that's what he reminds himself as he cuts corners and takes the few short cuts he knows.
If anything by the time he makes it to Konoe the worst he'll have to show for it are red cheeks, burning lungs, and damp bangs that cling to the side of his face as he comes to a slow stop a few feet just in front of the other boy.]

He continues his walk (turning it into a slight jog) and eventually hears the rush of footsteps first, his ears twisting to capture the sound. In case he loses him by moving he stops and waits, looking about until he finally catches sight of Al's face, the first smile he's had all night appearing on his face.]
Alphonse! [It's a tired sort of amusement now, and he moves forward again quickly to nudge him with his forehead.] You're fast - !
action now yes
I wanted to -
[He starts to say, but the words just don't quite explain the point he wants to get across.]
I needed ...
[The word is accented by arms that rise up and hug, much like when Travis finally found his way home Al can't resist the urge to make sure he draws the other into a tight embrace. However, it doesn't stop there. He's pushing their foreheads together, nuzzling noses, and sealing lips together until the weight of their movement drives them to the closest wall where Al finally cradles Konoe needfully in his arms.]

That it all turns into a hug seems natural, enough that he's willing to return it, lifting his arms at the sudden shower of affection to wrap them around him in just as much relief. If he could have woken up to see anyone again, that Alphonse is first makes him happy.
But the rumble in his throat and his hands hitch alike, when he realizes they're moving, they're kissing, they're against a wall -
He's lost in it for a moment, only to break away in a surprised gasp, face hot when when he notices all too late how hard he's come to clutch at Al's shirt. Hopefully there's no tear in it now, but more importantly - ]
N... needed what?
no subject
It's just...
[With words escaping him again he bites down on his lower lip, pink flesh going white beneath his teeth before he leans forward to duck his face.]
'dunno, I was afraid I'd lost you too.
no subject
But when he does decide, it's with a smile, gentle and spoken against Alphonse's cheek before he presses his lips there.]
S'why I called so late... I didn't want you to be afraid anymore.
[His grip's loosened, but his palms stay put on Alphonse's back, one moving to smooth over it in reassurance for however long he needs to. Getting home is no hurry anymore.]
no subject
It was hard not to worry.
[He's been there to the temple, both to sleep, and to wait for others. It only seemed to get more difficult despite knowing that the slumber would eventually end.]
I'm glad.
[Though it seems such a poor choice of words to use in this situation, so he's shifting again so their closer, enough so that Konoe will no doubt smell the traces the tea he drank before retiring to his room.]
Would it be all right if I - [His eyes drift to lips.] - can we ... again?
no subject
Yeah... I owe you one, don't I?
[It's a whisper loud to his ears in the quiet of the street, and he closes their little gap again himself, his tail curling loosely around Alphonse's leg.]

I missed you.
[He wonders for a moment if it should scare him a little over just how much he means that.]
no subject
Because sure, his thoughts float the Elric's way pretty often, but the wait for him to see him again is hardly feels comparable to what Al's been put through. He knows it.
He lifts his eyes after a moment of thought, and does what comes to mind first, cupping his face in his hands to guide his gaze match his own.]
If you want... we can stay together a while longer? Anywhere you want....
[Hagane House, his own hole in the wall, outside here. It's of little consequence so long as he can make this better.]
no subject
[His head shakes slowly to draw cool noses together once more, while his words remain vague the need for their closeness to last can be felt in the way his fingers twist a little bit more tightly against fabric and hair.]
Doesn't matter, but...
[It's hard for him not to be thoughtful, especially, when he can feel abrasive concrete scraping against his knuckles.]
You haven't been home in a while...
[He could stay? The question though is left unspoken as his eyes trail from face and down the dark street.]
no subject
I should check on it... so long as I hadn't come back just to sleep by myself.
[He nuzzles him again in return, still uplifted by Alphonse's admittance before, and mouths "come on" before pulling back and taking him by the hand. He couldn't refuse to invite him by if he tried, and it's nice to know the feeling is entirely his own.]
